Why it is moving
LiFePO4 cells now dominate the category because they survive far more cycles than the older lithium-ion packs, which lets retailers advertise a longer warranty without carrying the return risk. Buyers in the Gulf and Africa are pairing them with small solar panels as a bundle.
What to verify before the deposit
This is a certification-heavy product and the paperwork is where most first orders go wrong.
- UN38.3 and MSDS for every cell used, matched to the actual cell brand in the BOM
- Cycle-life test data, not a marketing figure on the datasheet
- BMS supplier and firmware version — cheap BMS boards cause most field failures
- Air freight is restricted: plan for LCL or FCL sea freight on volume orders
Sourcing notes
Ask for the same capacity from three factories and compare weight. A unit that is significantly lighter than its stated capacity usually has re-graded cells inside. We open one sample from every production batch during inspection and log the cell markings.
